Brave Liverpool fans desperately smash driver’s window in bid to stop parade ‘rampage’
Fearless football fans desperately tried to stop a car which ploughed into crowds in Liverpool yesterday. Dozens of people were injured when the vehicle smashed into supporters celebrating Liverpool's Premier League title win. Four children were among the 47 people hurt, with cops confirming a 53-year-old white British man from the Merseyside area was arrested at the scene. Today, chilling scenes show discarded footie shirts, children's toys and flowers left by the police cordon as they investigate. As the horror unfolded, brave fans attempted to smash the car's windows to get at the driver when he stalled. But he managed to start up again, piling into more screaming supporters as they tried to flee. Today, it emerged that four people in hospital are currently "very ill" following the horror crash.
