First migrants DETAINED in Britain’s ‘one-in-one-out’ deal with France as MORE boats arrive in UK
The first small boat migrants have been detained under Labour’s new UK-France swap deal — but ministers are refusing to say how many were actually held. The so-called “one-in-one-out” scheme began on Tuesday, with some arrivals stopped in Dover and taken to immigration removal centres. But the Home Office won’t release figures, claiming it could tip off smuggling gangs — prompting Tory accusations that the real reason is the numbers are too low to make any impact.
