Fugitive dad ‘Bushman’ KILLED in shootout after 4-years on run as kids discovered in hideout
Infamous "Bushman" fugitive Tom Phillips' missing children have been found alive at a remote campsite after he was shot dead by cops. Police said eldest daughter Jayda, 12, was taken into custody earlier on Monday after being found with Phillips during an armed confrontation. A witness phoned cops after seeing Phillips and Jayda dressed in "farm clothing" and wearing headlamps robbing a rural supply store around 2.30am. Siblings Maverick, 10, and Ember, nine, were still missing at that stage, sparking a frantic search before they were eventually located at a remote campsite at 4.30pm on Monday. Acting Deputy Commissioner Jill Rogers said they were “safe and well” and were being taken for medical checks. She added the youngsters had been “cooperating with police” since their discovery.
